At CTSC, our research is built on deep collaboration between schools, universities, and educational creators to pursue big questions related to transforming education. Instructional Innovation & Professional Learning

We inform the learning sciences by studying how educators adopt new classroom practices and transition to student-centered environments.

AI & Emerging Technologies in Pedagogy

We investigate how emerging tools can be purposefully integrated to support inquiry and deepen student understanding.

Systemic Transformation & Leadership

We study how PK-16 structures, organizational cultures, and leadership strategies adapt to support and sustain long-term instructional innovation, ensuring meaningful student outcomes.

Recent Projects


Advancing Transdisciplinary Learning

Funded by the National Science Foundation, the CTSC-led Systemic Transformation of Inquiry Learning Environments for STEM (STILE) project is a multi-phase research and development initiative. We focus on advancing inquiry-driven, transdisciplinary STEM learning in K–8 schools.

Differentiating Math Instruction for All

CTSC partnered with the Education Development Center (EDC) and Bank Street College of Education in a multi-year, IES-funded study of the Math for All (MFA) professional development program.  MFA aims to provide teachers with knowledge and strategies around adapting mathematics lessons for a wide range of diverse learners.
