Are you a parent or guardian of a Grades 5-8 student at MS 31X, PS 676K, PS 318M, or PS/IS 119Q ?

We are interested in your child’s perspectives on STEM -- Science, Technology, Engineering and Math!

As you may know, schools are increasingly interested in helping students become more familiar with STEM. We are trying to understand your child’s interest in these subjects through a student survey.

The survey is intended for
your child to fill out.

The Research: As part of a National Science Foundation initiative focused on supporting STEM learning opportunities in schools, we seek to understand students’ engagement in STEM over time. You can learn more about the study or ask questions of our Teachers College research team here. Your school will not have access to your child’s survey responses.

Your Participation: Your child’s participation involves two short, five-minute surveys -- the first is available now and the second will be available at the end of the 2022 school year. There are 18 questions on the survey, similar to the sample item provided below.

What to expect:

  1. First, you will need to confirm your child’s eligibility for the study and provide your consent to participate.
  2. Second, your child will need to agree to participate.
  3. Third, the survey will automatically appear for your child to start filling out.
