This project, inspired by the American Association of Physics Teachers High School Photo Contest, is designed to connect physical science concepts to what students see in their every day world. High school science teachers examined the New York State Science Core Curriculum and discussed real world applications of physical science. Teachers created concept maps of Key Ideas and Performance Indicators using Inspiration software. Using digital cameras, teachers took photographs illustrating a physical science topic of their choice and created a VoiceThread presentation explaining the link to the real world. By the end of the project, teachers created a poster illustrating and explaining a variety of physical science concepts. Teachers will share this model with their students as they implement this project in their classrooms.
